About Me..
Leif Zimmerman
Bio: Born and raised here in Oregon, My interest in landscape architecture began when I was very young because of my love for the outdoors. I was always exploring new places as I would frequently go camping, fishing, boating, mountain biking, hiking, and snowboarding. During my summers in school I worked for a small residential and commercial landscape company doing many aspects of landscape construction, from grading, to irrigation, water features, stonework, to planting thousands of plants, laying sod, and some maintenance. Throughtout my time at the University I worked on a range of projects from small community parks, urban parks, campus planning, on up to larger projects like land use planning, highway planning, mixed use developments, and eventually plans for a new town center. Landscape architecture for me is about connecting people with their natural enivronment, in ways that enrich people lives while balancing economic, ecological, and social needs.
